Tonight, the Earlham group has been invited to a party hosted by the Legacy Hotel specifically for its Canadian guests. The Canadian consulate leases 20 rooms in the hotel for its employees to live. It's going on right now in the front garden restaurant and everyone seems to be having a good time.
I joined several others of our group at the party after the mini oud concert at Jerusalem Hotel. All had cups of draught Taybeh beer and temporary "Made in Canada" tattoos. The women were happily flirting with American members of the UN military, Candadian attache's, Arab guests, even the hotel personnel. I had such a good time that (embarrassingly -- Darn you, not to be mentioned!) Chris and I closed the place even though the Ared, the manager, bought yet another round of drinks well after the bar closed.
