How to Be Me --Writing Assignment

Hello there!

Will you contribute to my project?

I have been asked to produce a book that helps college students (who want to be high school teachers) understand what current high school students are like, their issues, interests, challenges, and joys. The title of the book will be, How to Be Me. It is going to be a collection of chapters written by members of this class. The goals are to raise awareness of the new challenges today’s students face in order to be educated and to dissolve the old stereotypes about teenagers. You are exactly the kind of student I would like to have represented in this book. Would you consider writing one of the chapters? The scene title for yours will be, “How to be [your first name goes here].” Don’t be afraid to get creative, as long as it works like a chapter in a book and fits the chapter title.

Your chapter must be word-processed (New Times Roman, 12pt font size, double-spaced, indented paragraphs) on white paper with at least one-inch margins and with the page number and your name in the margins on every page.

Submit your final draft to Mr. Jones by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
